I have had over 15 years working in mental health, and in particular working in the non-profit sector. I have been in numerous positions between, residential counselor, case manager and therapist. I can understand how difficult and how rewarding it can be working with a highly vulnerable population. After receiving my degree and becoming fully licensed, I made my way to opening a private practice, where I currently work with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and Complex Trauma. I utilize Internal Family Systems (IFS) modality, as well as Psychodynamic, CBT and DBT.
I believe that supervision can be a powerful tool that can help clinicians become more effective and successful. My approach is to foster an environment that encourages self-reflection, critical thinking, and creative problem solving. I am confident that I can provide meaningful feedback and guidance. My supervision style is integrative, warm, and supportive. I work collaboratively with supervisees to create an atmosphere of safety, respect, and trust. I strive to create an environment that encourages self-reflection, critical thinking, and creative problem solving. I believe in providing guidance that is tailored to the individual needs of the supervisee. I utilize evidence-based practices and current research to ensure that supervisees are provided with the most up-to-date information and are supported in developing the necessary skills to become effective clinicians. My ultimate goal is to empower supervisees to become autonomous practitioners who are able to think critically and independently.
I'm a great choice as a supervisor for those looking for an outside perspective or wanting to improve their counseling skills. I started a private practice after working in community mental health for years, so I understand how overwhelming it can feel to start your own practice and improve your counseling skills while staying ethical.
