Couples Counseling

Relationships are at the core of our well-being, yet even the strongest couples face challenges. Whether you’re navigating a rough patch, seeking to improve communication, or wanting to rekindle the love you once felt, couples counseling can help

Relationships are hard because we all want to feel respected, loved, and cared about, and when we don’t in relationships that matter, we get triggered. Our reactions can lead to problematic cycles where we’re stuck in a pattern of criticism and defensiveness. And whatever you try, you can’t find your way out of this negative cycle. These patterns can come up in intimate relationships, family relationships, and close friendships. It can happen with anyone, but when it’s with someone we love, it can hurt.

Therapy can make an enormous difference so that you can resolve relationship conflicts, improve emotional connection, and increase intimacy.

I work to increase your understanding of how you are relating together and why you get stuck in escalating negative cycles. Then I will guide you toward positive patterns of interaction so that you have a much more satisfying connection. As this positive cycle develops, you will be better able to communicate, reconnect, and feel close.

Couples counseling can help you and your partner:
• stop the cycle of arguing
• communicate effectively
• gain clarity about the relationship
• deepen your connection and intimacy it stand out.

I believe in a collaborative approach to couples counseling, where both partners are encouraged to actively participate in the therapy process. I use evidence-based techniques and interventions to help couples improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen their connection beliefs. Every couple is unique, which is why our approach is tailored to meet your specific needs. Using evidence-based techniques such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, we work with you to:

- **Identify the root causes** of your relationship challenges.
- **Develop practical tools** and strategies to improve communication and connection.
- **Foster mutual understanding** and empathy.
- **Create a shared vision** for your future together.

**What to Expect**
Couples counseling typically involves both partners attending sessions together, though individual sessions may also be recommended. During your sessions, you'll:
- **Explore underlying issues** contributing to your difficulties.
- **Practice new communication techniques** in a supportive environment.
- **Set achievable goals** for your relationship.
